Giving Cuba’s Creative Artists a Global Voice

By William “Doc” Jones
Founder & Editor-in-Chief, Bridges of Rhythm Magazine

This publication was inspired by my recent trip to Cuba — a place where the pulse of life echoes through every drumbeat, brushstroke, dance move, and melody. What I experienced wasn’t just music and art; it was a spirit of resilience, beauty, and cultural pride that the world should see, hear, and celebrate.

Bridges of Rhythm exists to do just that. Our mission is straightforward but ambitious:
To give Cuba’s creative artists a global voice.

Whether you’re a fan of Afro-Cuban jazz, modern dance, fine art, or traditional culture, this magazine is your window into the heart of a people eager to share their stories.

Each issue will showcase stories of musicians, dancers, painters, and changemakers — highlighting not just their art, but their journeys, struggles, and victories. And through it all, we aim to build bridges — between Havana and Phoenix, Santiago and Chicago, Matanzas and New Orleans — creating an international platform for Cuba’s artistic brilliance.

To every Cuban artist reading this: we see you, honor you, and stand with you.
To every global reader: thank you for listening.
