602 AZ Magazine is the media arm of the visionary 504 Multimedia platform created by Doc Jones. Founded to amplify underrepresented voices, 602 AZ Magazine is dedicated to giving Phoenix’s vibrant jazz community a powerful voice.
From highlighting local artists and events to covering global jazz connections with Phoenix roots, the magazine serves as a cultural megaphone—documenting what’s happening now and shaping what comes next.
Our Mission
Led by Founder and Executive Director Doc Jones, the mission of 602 AZ Magazine—and all affiliated projects under the 504 Multimedia umbrella—is to unite the jazz community around International Jazz Day.
Through storytelling, collaboration, and cultural celebration, Doc Jones envisions a connected Arizona where jazz is more than music—it’s a movement. Each April 30th, and throughout the year, we shine a light on local and global artists, events, and initiatives that uplift jazz as a force for unity, education, and social change.

Our mission is simple: to celebrate, connect, and inform the jazz and arts scene throughout Arizona and beyond. Whether it’s through artist spotlights, festival coverage, or educational features, 602 AZ Magazine is where jazz lives and breathes in the Valley of the Sun.
